Faulted, Drowning Stick
By Mongoose
Uselessly you stand like a buoyancy aid,
With no-one around to throw you close
To the sinking victim.
Can she find the strength to survive?
Will she sail smoothly through the corrupt darkness
Swiftly drifting into the moral light.
On the edge, staring in,
Should I return? This hatred nearly faulted me last time.
Like your logic; like your perception; faulted.
Like a binded book as the seam tears off;
Your pages are ripping apart,
Your story is aging and becoming noticed.
Exceptionally well you fade
Into the shadow of a stick.
Bendy, rotting, lifeless twig. Ready to
Snap momentarily.
But this is what you wanted, it’s yours-
Embrace it. The bite is worse than the bark.
If I don’t save you, who will?
Oh drowner. Please stop it!
Drowning faulted twig- to me you were always perfect
There was never a need to refuse their;
Food or chubby helping hands.
Drowning faulted stick drift freely, safely
And bind back together your story.
With no-one around to throw you close
To the sinking victim.
Can she find the strength to survive?
Will she sail smoothly through the corrupt darkness
Swiftly drifting into the moral light.
On the edge, staring in,
